Liquid Light Art

Bringing Light to Sound – The Art of Liquid Light Projection

As a visual artist, I create live liquid light art, a form of moving visual painting using overhead projectors, liquids, ink, water, and shifting colors. This technique is a spontaneous painting process, created only on stage—an ever-changing imagery that responds in real time to music and performance. Inspired by storytelling and meditative states, my light art brings an immersive, dreamlike quality to live shows.

I collaborate with two performance groups: AWUWA and Liquidelic, each offering a unique fusion of light, sound, and movement

AWUWA

A Journey into Ancient Sound & Light

Awuwa is a contemporary Japanese performing arts unit featuring vocalist Mico Sundari and visual artist Yao Mikami. Together, we explore the ancient songs of Japan through meditative sound and liquid light visual art, reconnecting with traditional Japanese spirituality.

Kotodama – The Spirit of Words

At the heart of Awuwa’s performance is Kotodama, the Japanese belief that words carry spiritual energy. Through sound and imagery, we create a space where the audience can experience the depth of this ancient wisdom.

Liquidelic

A Multi-Sensory Performance Experience

Liquidelic is an interdisciplinary performance project where music, dance, and visual art merge into an electrifying, immersive show. Working alongside Karen Minami (dance), Tim Parry (music), and Mico Sundari (vocals), I create a dynamic visual flow that responds to the rhythm of movement and sound.
